Care & Instructions

Always keep a good coat of clear nail polish (with vinyl if possible) on your fangs at all time. Allow the nail polish to dry hard before wearing fangs. Never wear your fangs without a coat of nail polish on them - especially if they are have a metalic finish. Some metalic finishes may contain hazardous materials and must not be swallowed or allowed to wear off.

Always brush your acrylic teeth before and after wearing them. Occastionally, clean off the coating of nail polish with a non-acetone nail polish remover and a soft cloth - not cotton balls or tissues. Do not dip teeth in the polish remover. Never clean your fangs with an acetone cleaner. When the teeth are dry and you can no longer smell the polish remover on them, apply your finish (if any) and finish with at least two coats of nail polish. If your teeth have a finish, be certain that the areas covered by the finish are completely covered by the nail polish. Do not use more than four coats of nail polish. Allow the nail polish to dry hard before wearing your teeth. If the nail polish cracks during drying, repeat the cleaning process and apply thinner coats next time.

Never use mouthwash with dyes or alcohol because they can soften and deform acrylic. Never soak your fangs in anything because they might pick up an undesired coloration.

Store acrylic teeth in a safe place. They are easily misplaced. Dogs and cats love them too. Acrylic teeth are like a chew toy to animals.

No one else can wear your acrylic teeth. They were designed to fit you perfectly. Any attempt to wear teeth that do not fit properly could have unfortunate results.

Over time, the acrylic the fangs are made of will tend to shrink making them fit tighter. Eventually, another set will have to be made. To prolong the life of your fangs, store them on the cast provided when not wearing them.

To install, orient the teeth so the points are down and the bridge bows toward the back of your mouth and up into your forepallet. Place the points of your incisors into the spaces intended for them and press upward to snap into place. The bridge should be in direct contact with the roof of your mouth and should contour to every detail for a perfect fit.

To remove, with your fingers pointed up, place the tip of each fang in each of your thumbs. Then, using a fingernail placed above each tooth, pull directly downward holding the head in place - looking forward. The teeth should pop out with firm pressure. Typically, the tighter the fit, the better.

Never bite people with your fangs. You could go to jail.

Don't go to confession with the fangs unless you intent to make a meal of the priest.

Impressing your friends by biting a can seems like a good idea, but don't do it. You might not be able to remove the can or the teeth without damage.

Don't sleep while wearing fangs. Also, don't get drunk while wearing fangs. Parties are fun, but swallowing the teeth won't be.

If you encounter a real vampire, play along. If he finds out you aren't a real vampire, you could be his next meal.

Some light eating should be possible while wearing the teeth. This will take practice and caution not to crush the teeth. Many people are surprised by their strength when they bite down on acrylic fangs and break them. It's also wise to eat with caution (if at all) because swallowed pieces of broken teeth could cause choking or other complications.

Minor & Major Repairs
The most common damage is snapping the bridge. This is the thinnest part of the fangs and should be treated with care. A clean break can be repaired with a drop of "super glue" and pressing the break together firmly. Be very careful when attempting this repair. If the two sides of the break to not line up, they will stick in a shape that will not fit and they can not be broken again in the same place.

Major repairs should be conducted by the artist and may require a small fee; however, most repairs are free. If the damage is so severe that repairs are not recommended, it may be necessary to create a new set of teeth. No discounts are given because of damaged teeth; however, the artist reserves the right to offer discounts to individuals who have brought repeat business or referrals to us.
